Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 26/11/2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Safora mobile application (“App”), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use the App.

2. Nature of the Service

Safora is a personal alert and notification tool designed to send an SOS message to your selected emergency contacts (“Guardians”). Safora is not an emergency response service, medical device, or guaranteed method of obtaining help.

The App does not replace emergency services such as 111, 911, or 999.

3. No Guarantee of Performance

You acknowledge that alerts may be delayed, disrupted, or may fail to send for reasons including:

  • Poor network or mobile data connectivity
  • Device limitations, low battery, or OS restrictions
  • Background app permissions being disabled
  • Server outages or third-party service failures

Safora provides no guarantee that your Guardians will receive or act on any alert.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree that you are solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining a functioning device, battery, and internet connection
  • Ensuring your Guardians’ contact information is accurate
  • Keeping app permissions enabled (location, notifications, background activity)
  • Using the App legally and appropriately

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Safora and its owners, employees, developers, and partners are not liable for:

  • Injury, harm, or death resulting from reliance on the App
  • Missed or delayed alerts
  • Incorrect delivery of alerts
  • Device malfunctions or connectivity failures
  • Actions or inactions of your Guardians
  • Data loss or indirect or consequential damages

If liability cannot be excluded, it is strictly limited to the total amount paid for the App in the previous 12 months. If the App is used free of charge, liability is zero.

6. No Warranties

Safora is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis with no warranties of any kind, express or implied.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on external systems including mobile carriers, OS notification services, mapping APIs, and hosting providers. Safora is not responsible for any failure of these services.

8. Termination

Safora may suspend or terminate access for any misuse or technical necessity at any time.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of New Zealand.

10. Updates

These Terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the App indicates acceptance of all changes.
